SHOAF  -  Ryan Sidney Shoaf, 15, of 4028 Huntscroft Lane, Winston-Salem, died Friday, March 29, 2002. He was born Feb. 24, 1987, in Forsyth County to Richard Thomas and Kathy Kelly Shoaf. Ryan was a freshman at Mount Tabor High School and a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist. He was active in the marching band, concert band and orchestra at Mount Tabor High School as well as the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony. He had achieved the rank of Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 911 at Burkehead United Methodist Church. Surviving are his parents of the home; a brother, Wesley Shoaf of the home; a sister, Mandy Shoaf of the home; paternal grandparents, H.E. "Nick" and Dorothy S. Shoaf of Durham; maternal grandparents, Dana A. Kelly and Cecilia Chu of Durham and Judith H. and Carlton Bryant of Boone; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby B. Kelly of Durham; aunts and uncles Randy and Sandy Currin of Lillington, Sarah S. Shoaf and Alan Miller of Winston-Salem, Rob Shoaf of Durham, Don and Debra Kelly of Wilmington and a myriad of great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, in the Family Life Center of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church by Dr. Ken Carter. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service.
